Yamaha f70 flash ecu4/15/2024 ![]() This is a common failure point blamed on the IAC but the root problem isn't the IACs, it's the fact that Mercury is exceeding the duty cycle on many of the engines that causes them to overheat and short out. Yamaha Outboard ECU remapping, Nizpro Superchargers and high performance parts upgrades including steering upgrades. Im running a Outlaw 230 and picked up about 9mph on the top end, but, mid range performance and hole shot is what really improved especially when Im loaded down. The harness contains a replaceable fuse that will blow and prevent the shorted IAC from damaging the PCM (ECU-Computer). I sent mine off to Hydrotech, but, my starting point was a 200 so absolutely worth every penny. The advantage of the harness is to prevent a failed IAC from damaging the PCM, which is $2,000+ to replace. Replacement IACs and fuses are also available. Also included are two USA made IAC units with gaskets, hardware, (just in case you drop one in the bilge) spare fuses and a canvas storage pouch. I had my 250 SHO flashed a long time ago by Simon motor sports, before Hydrotech was doing them. The most drastic performance increases are coming from the 200 SHO (from what I read). The kit was developed for twin engine applications and includes two plug-and-play IAC harnesses that are fused to prevent a direct short to the PCM. I think it all depends on what engine is being flashed. Those new FuelTech ECU's that Monty uses that are built into the dash screen are pretty slick unit's for the money. Our kit eliminates costly PCM damage that can occur when an IAC fails, which can be a common occurance. Also the only difference in the f50 vs f60 is this part an part of the ecu. I will check my software library to see if your engine application is a match.
